The Balkan Peninsula stands as a captivating crossroads of civilizations, where the echoes of Thracians, Greeks, Slavs, Turks, and Proto-Bulgarians converge to shape what we recognize as Bulgarian culture. In these lands, ancient traditions persist, woven into the fabric of daily life. The people here sing songs, dance, and embrace motifs, often unaware of the profound origins behind these practices. Subconsciously, we bear the weight of age-old traditions.
This rich cultural tapestry finds expression in the creations of DankoHandmade. Vibrant hues reminiscent of Bulgarian national costumes, traditional forms, and intricate ornaments reflect the enduring influence of these historical legacies. For two decades, our workshop has strived to carry this cultural torch forward, infusing it with a modern sensibility.
The Ceramics-Making Journey:

GLAZE FIRING:
The glaze firing marks the second phase in our ceramic-making process. Once the bisqueware is adorned with carefully applied glazes and allowed to dry, it is delicately arranged in the kiln for the glaze firing. The firing temperature, varying between 2020 F (1100 C) and 2350 F (1280 C), is crucial. To prevent pots from merging, they must not touch during this process.
The kiln is gradually heated to the optimal temperature, bringing both clay and glazes to maturity, and then meticulously cooled. Only after this cooling process is complete do we open the kiln and unveil our finished pieces. This meticulous glaze firing represents the concluding chapter in the creation of the vast majority of our ceramic treasures.

I use your information to provide the services you requested and in my legitimate interest to improve my services; and 2) Compliance with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use. I use your information as necessary to comply with my obligations under the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
