In bygone eras, potters painstakingly sourced plastic clay directly from local grounds, a practice still cherished by some for its profound connection to the earth. While this process is labor-intensive and challenging for today's urban potters, the tradition endures. Many, however, opt for commercially available clay bodies from local ceramic suppliers due to the impracticality and expense of shipping such heavy materials. This step marks the foundational stage where the journey into ceramics artistry begins.
